About Next Path
I'm Jessica, the founder of Next Path Financial. I hold an MBA from the University of Alberta and have spent more than a decade in clinical research and operations, fields built on precision, clarity, and reliable systems. I bring that same structured, steady approach to organizing household finances.
I started Next Path Financial to support individuals and families preparing for and navigating major life transitions. Financial tasks can grow complex as life changes, and clear organization and reliable processes keep them manageable. My role is to provide calm, practical support, working alongside each client.
Together, we build the Financial System: a complete, organized record of the accounts, documents, key contacts, and the way the finances fit together. With that foundation in place, our clients, and those who rely on them, can manage the day-to-day with clarity and confidence.

Next Path Values
At Next Path Financial, our work is grounded in clarity, respect, and steady partnership. We are a fee-only, advice-only practice, and we do not receive commissions, referral fees, or incentives, so our guidance answers to no one but the people we work with.
We work in person, in the home, across Edmonton and surrounding communities, with remote check-ins available as needed. A Financial System is built around where each client is, and it evolves as life changes. We move at a pace that feels manageable, building structure, understanding, and reliable processes without judgment or pressure, one clear step at a time.
1
Begin with understanding
We begin with an unhurried conversation, in person, about the responsibilities, documents, accounts, and routines that make up the day-to-day. Sitting down together this way shows us what is already in place and what may need attention.
2
Organize the information
We work through it side by side: tracking down where accounts are held, locating important documents, and gathering the details that are often spread across different places. Piece by piece, we bring it all into one clear, organized record that is easy to use and keep current.
3
Build the Financial System
With everything gathered, we build the Financial System together: the structure the finances run on, including what needs to happen, when it comes due, and who to call about what. It is kept in one place, in a binder that stays with the client.
4
Put the Financial System to use
How the Financial System is used depends on the engagement. In a preparation engagement, it is complete and ready for the family to rely on. In a one-time engagement, we work through the bill payments, the banking, and the routines together until the finances are running and the client is ready to carry them forward. In an ongoing engagement, we stay alongside, managing the day-to-day for as long as the support is wanted.
5
Support the Financial System over time
Life changes, and the Financial System changes with it. We keep it current while we are working together, with updates available on request once an engagement is complete.
How We Work
At Next Path Financial, our approach is practical, structured, and personalized. We work in person, sitting down together and going through the details side by side, at a steady pace and never rushing ahead. Every decision belongs to our clients. Our role is to build the clarity and consistency that makes those decisions easier.
